buttler 0.82 (ackmed@gotwalls.com) buttler is a program written in perl-gtk for xwindows (NOT microsoft windows). It will connect to multiple irc networks, joins a bunch of offer channels, track the offer, and allow you to double-click to request the offer. buttler is passive, it only joins channels and listens for offers. It does not xdcc list offer bots. With the current configs buttler will attempt to connect to 53 irc networks and join 236 channels. The idea for buttler came from bottler (http://memelog.com/bottler/) which is a windows apps. There were a few things about bottler I didnt like, main one was the limit of a single irc connection. Offer Tab You can select multiple files and use the right mouse button to request them. Row Colors red - bot/network is disconnected yellow - possible stale, bot has not re-broadcast the offer in 20mins green - items in your request queue Popup Menu has a 'Purge Old' option, this will remove any offer that is red or yellow. Queue Tab Contains current status of requests to bots. If you request multiple files from the same bot, it will locally queue the requests. Such that only one request is sent to the bot at a time. Row Colors red - bot/network is disconnected yellow - bot has not restated our queue position in 20mins You can cancel queue'd item by either double clicking or select/right click the mouse Transfer Tab Shows current transfers. The filename will change depending on the current state of the transfer, as follows: state filename ------------------------- transferring transferring-filename.ext manual stop stopped-filename.ext error failed-filename.ext completed filename.ext double click on an entry to stop the transfer Network Tab Show current state of connections to the irc networks. If a network is disabled, you can re-enable it by double clicking it. buttler will disable a network if its unable to connect to it 5 attempts in a row. Channel Tab Shows current stats of all channels. double click to force a join.
